The UN General Assembly adopted on Monday a draft resolution on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, according to Palestinian ambassador to the UN Riyad Mansour.

The resolution, says Mansour, was adopted by a vote of 182 in favor to seven against (Canada, Israel, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau and the US), with three abstentions (Cameroon, South Sudan, and Tonga).

Mansour highlighted that the resolution would have the UN General Assembly reaffirm the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right to their independent State of Palestine.

It would also urge all states, as well as the specialized agencies and organizations of the UN, to continue to support and assist the Palestinian people in the early realization of their right to self-determination.
