Subject: Lobbying MEPs for BDS

Importance: High --- Affaire à suivre

Thursday 23 March 2006

Below is the timetable for the amendments to the EU framework programme
tabled by the Greens - these amendments seek to block EU funding
collaborations with countries in breach of EU or UN human rights
legislations etc.

Caroline Lucas MEP has asked that you help mobilise support for them by
emailing
your MEP over the coming weeks - all MEP emails can be found on the EU
website. Please take a few minutes to do this - there seems a good chance
the we can get these amendments passed and then can build on them
The three amendments are to

(a) Annex 1,1 Cooperation, international cooperation, Insert “Third
countries which are in breach of EU law or UN Conventions on Human Rights
shall not be eligible for participation in the European research area and
funding under Framework

Insert” provided these countries are not in breach of EU law or UN
conventions on human rights"
