Chères amies, Chers amis,

Faut-il une fois de plus énoncer les exactions israéliennes à l’encontre des Palestiniens, qui redoublent sous le gouvernement Netanyahou-Lieberman ? Etant donné que la plupart des « grands » médias n’en parlent pas, avez vous appris que la police israélienne a fait fermer les portes du théâtre de Jérusalem-Est, qui accueillait le Festival Palestinien de Littérature ?

Savez-vous qu’un projet de loi vient d’être introduit, qui vise à punir de 3 ans de prison toute personne qui s’aviserait de commémorer la « Nakba », c’est à dire l’expulsion de 800 000 Palestiniens par Israël, en 1948 ?

Que Salah Hamouri et l’ensemble des prisonniers palestiniens, qui refusent de porter l’uniforme orange de Guantanamo, sont actuellement privés de visites ?

Que des experts ont confirmé l’emploi d’uranium appauvri et d’autres produits cancérigènes dans la Bande de Gaza, pendant l’opération « Plomb Durci » ?

Que la journaliste israélienne Amira Hass, arrêtée alors qu’elle se rendait dans la bande Gaza pour y exercer son métier, a lancé un violent « J’accuse », mettant en cause l’ensemble de la population israélienne qui collabore à l’occupation ?

De peur de vous lasser, nous n’énoncerons pas la longue liste des actes et déclarations intolérables qui continuent à être tolérés. Obama en a relevé quelques-uns, concernant notamment le refus du gouvernement israélien de stopper la colonisation des territoires palestiniens occupés. Ses propos seront-ils suivis de sanctions, puisqu’Israël persévère dans la voie du terrorisme d’Etat ? Ou bien les USA, dont le nouveau budget militaire bat tous les records de hausse, vont-il continuer à entretenir le chaos au Proche comme au Moyen-Orient, ainsi qu’en Afghanistan ?

Une chose est certaine : si nous souhaitons des changements, un peu plus de justice et de liberté, il faudra les conquérir. Il faudra donner et montrer l’exemple.

C’est pourquoi la campagne internationale de Boycott d’Israël est plus que jamais à l’ordre du jour, et nous nous réjuissons de ses progrès, en France, comme à l’étranger.

Saluons l’action de nos amis écossais et du cinéaste Ken Loach, qui ont amené le Festival du Film d’Edinbourg à renvoyer à Israël l’argent qu’il lui avait versé. Saluons l’action de nos amis américains qui ont convaincu Motorola de se désengager d’Israël, et de ne plus lui vendre des fusibles pour bombes et autres pièces pour système de communication et de surveillance.

Saluons l’annonce faite par la banque franco-belge DEXIA de ne plus accorder de prêts aux colonies israéliennes

Saluons, en France, le petit syndicat de l’administration scolaire, universitaire et des bibliothèques (SNASUB-FSU), qui a voté la semaine dernière une motion de boycott d’Israël.

Saluons le grand syndicat britannique de l’enseignement (PACBU) qui a demandé hier à ses membres de revoir toutes leurs coopérations avec Israël, en s’appuyant sur l’appel BDS (Boycott, Désinvestissement, Sanctions)

Saluons Alima Boumediene-Thiery, sénatrice (Verts) et Omar Slaouti, tête liste du NPA en région parisienne, qui ont participé à une action de boycott citoyenne dans un hypermarché du Val d’Oise.

Saluons, une fois n’est pas coutume, la ministre de l’Intérieur qui a, lors d’une séance à l’assemblée nationale, remis quelques pendules à l’heure concernant les actions de boycott des produits israéliens, face aux calomnies répandues par les émissaires du lobby israélien ( video : http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/boycott/video/x9d95y_michele-alliotmarie-repond-a-eric-r_news )

Actions pacifiques, qui consistent à refuser d’acheter les produits vendus par des criminels de guerre, et dont personne ne peut garantir, en outre, la traçabilité, puisqu’ils peuvent parfaitement provenir des colonies.
Actions non violentes, qui visent à dénoncer les tromperies sur la marchandise dont se rendent coupables diverses grandes surfaces, qui nous mentent sur l’affichage de certains produits. Non, messieurs Ghozlan, Raoult & Co., nous ne volons rien, nous ne dégradons rien, et nous ne nous attaquons certainement pas aux produits casher, comme l’a souligné Michèle Alliot-Marie. Il va falloir trouver d’autres prétextes pour nous empêcher de témoigner de notre conscience et de notre moralité !

Dear Friends,

Is it necessary to enunciate yet again the Israeli acts of violence against Palestinians, which have redoubled under the Netanyahou-Lieberman government ? Given that most of the media doesn’t speak about it, do you know that the Israeli police have closed the doors of the East Jerusalem theatre, which was to welcome the Palestinian Literature Festival ? Are you aware that a law has been proposed which would impose a 3 year prison term on any person who advocates the commemoration of the « Nakba, » that is the expulsion of 800,000 Palestinians by Israel in 1948 ? That Salah Hamouri and the Palestinian prisoners who have refused to wear the orange Guantanamo prison uniform have been deprived of visits ? That experts have confirmed the use of depleted uranium and other carcinogenic products in the Gaza Strip during the operation « Cast Lead » ? That the reporter Amira Hass, arrested when she went to the Gaza Strip to do her job, has issued a violent « J’Accuse, » against the Israeli population, which collaborates in the occupation ?

For fear of tiring you, we will not give the long list of intolerable acts and declarations which continue to be tolerated. Obama has spoken of some of them, notably concerning the refusal of the Israeli government to stop colonizing the occupied Palestinian Territories. Will his statements be followed up with sanctions, as Israel continues along the road of state terrorism ? Or will the USA, whose latest military budget is the highest ever, continue to support the chaos in the Near and Middle East, as well as in Afghanistan ?

One thing is certain ; if we want changes, a bit more justice and freedom, we must win them. We must show and give the example. This is why the international campaign to boycott Israel is more than ever the order of the day, and we rejoice in its progress in France as elsewhere.

Let us salute the actions of our Scottish friends, and the film director Ken Loach who led the Edinburgh Film Festival to return the money which Israel had provided to it ; and the action of our American friends who convinced Motorola to leave Israel, and to stop selling her bomb fuses and parts for her systems of communications and surveillance. Or again, the announcement by the Franco-Belgian bank Dexia that it will no longer provide loans to Israeli settlements. We hail, in France, the small union of school and university administrative personnel and librarians (SNASUB-FSU), which last week voted a boycott of Israel ; and in Britain, the large teachers union (PACBU), which asked yesterday all of its members to re-examine their cooperation with Israel, in support of the appeal of BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions).

Hail to Alima Boumediene-Thiery, senator (Greens) and Omar Slaouti, head of the NPA list for the European elections in the Paris region, both of whom participated in the citizens’ boycott of a hypermarket in the Val d’Oise. Peaceful actions which consist in refusing to buy products sold by war criminals, the traceability of which no one can guarantee, because they might come from Israeli settlements. Non-violent actions, which aim at denouncing the deceptive actions of certain large supermarkets regarding the labeling of goods. No, Mr. Ghozlan, Raoult & Co., we do not steal, we do not degrade, and we certainly do not attack kosher products, as Michèle Alliot-Marie underlined. You will have to find other pretexts to prevent us from giving witness to our conscience and our moral values.
