Israeli Soldier killed, IOF Tightens Measures in West Bank and Arrests 14 Residents

JENIN, March 16, 2006,(IPC+WAFA)- Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested on Thursday fourteen citizens in the West Bank(WB)cities of Jenin, Qalqilya, Nablus, Hebron and Bethlehem.

In Jenin, Israeli troops, swept into the city, amid intensive fire shooting, besieged a house at Al Ibrahemia neighborhood and forced citizens to leave their house, in order to demolish it. IOF also supported by police dogs launched a wide scale search campaign into citizens’ houses and arrested five citizens, security sources said.

In addition, violent clashes took place around the besieged house where an Israeli soldier was killed according to Israeli sources. Sources said that after several hours of besieging the house, they were able to arrest the five citizens and led them to an unknown destination.

In Qalqiliya, Israeli soldiers, stormed, at pre-dawn, the towns of Al-Nabi Elias and Azzoun, east the city, besieged and stormed number of houses, ravaged the contents and arrested Marwan Ridwan 22, Mohammad Salah 30, and Saddam Hanoun 25, leading them into an unknown location.

In Nablus, massive number of Israeli soldiers, thrust, at pre-dawn, into Balata refugee camp, east of the city, launched a house-to-house search campaign and arrested the two citizens, Ali Abu Daya 22, and Ali Al-Terawi 24, leading them into an undisclosed place, security sources said.

In Bethlehem, Israeli soldiers, positioned at Al-Konteenar checkpoint, near Al-Sawahra village, stopped and arrested Mohammed Abu Ariya 33, of Za’tara village, leading him into an unknown spot.

In Hebron, Israeli soldiers, backed up by armored vehicles, stormed Al-Arroub refugee camp, north the city, held up scores of students, arrested and led three of them into the military camp of Gush Etsion

At dawn, IOF arrested ten other citizens in Beit Ummar, Bani Na’im and Dora towns of Hebron and led them to an unknown place.
