Professor Richard Falk - The Israeli assault on human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories - Wednesday 1st December, London

Professor Richard Falk (United Nations Special Rapporteur for Palestinian Human Rights) will be giving a public lecture, co-hosted by The Middle East Monitor (MEMO) and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), and chaired by on the subject of "The Israeli assault on human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Annual lobby of Parliament report – over 100 MPs lobbied for Palestine The lobby of Parliament was a huge success with over 100 MPs lobbied for Palestine.

The day was closed with a packed rally chaired by Jeremy Corbyn MP, and addressed by Sir Gerald Kaufman MP, Baroness Jenny Tonge, Andy Slaughter MP, Richard Burden MP, David Ward MP, Dr Daud Abdullah from MEMO, Garth Hewitt from Amos Trust, Ismail Patel from Friends of Al-Aqsa, Palestinian PLC member Jamal Hwayel and Betty Hunter from Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

We’ve got a great night lined up, including a performance of Seven Jewish Children by the acclaimed playwright Caryl Churchill. This short play is a moving reflection on Israel’s attack on Gaza, and was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre, London, in February 2009.

PSC is delighted that West End and television stars, Anna Carteret, David Calder and Andrew Jarvis will be performing the play for us at our Winter Concert.

Marking the Gaza War: 2 years on

27 December marks the second year of the start of Operation Cast Lead. Please join us at our vigil outside the Israeli embassy from 1-3pm.

We are also holding a rally for Gaza on 18 January to mark the end of the war at 7pm, Conway Hall, Holborn, London.

Keep the Pressure on BT to hang up on the occupation
BT have now received thousands of emails about their dealings with Bezeq International and their complicity with the occupation.

We’re going to be taking this campaign further, so look out for the next email we send you with more details. Meanwhile if you haven’t already done so, PSC has set up an easy to use e-tool that allows you to send a model letter to Ian Livingston, the CEO of BT, calling for BT to disconnect from the settlements and occupation.

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign has a vacancy for a full-time staff member

Campaigns Officer (Parliament and EU) with responsibility for external communications

£23-25,000 dependent on experience

The postholder will be responsible for supporting the Director to develop and implement external campaigns and strategies within agreed policies and budgets, and to undertake external communications under the direction of the Director. They will work from the PSC office in London.
