Palestine Solidarity Campaign –

Message From Sarah Colborne
The last 72 hours have been the most harrowing in my life. Even for an experienced campaigner like myself, nothing prepared me for the barbaric onslaught by the Israeli Army on a boat of unarmed peace activists with a cargo of humanitarian aid.

There are images from Monday’s bloody attack that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Yet for all the horrors of the last few days, for all the deaths and injuries, there is one thing that helped me through - knowing that back here in London PSC would be vociferously campaigning on behalf of all the hostages illegally held by the Israeli’s.

I will be writing tomorrow at greater length about my experiences, but I wanted every PSC member and supporter to know that your outstanding campaign over the last week is appreciated and I hope to see as many of you as can make it to the demo in central London on Saturday.

Watch Sarah tell her account at today’s press conference here >>

Redoubling our efforts - The Rachel Corrie and future convoys

Our activists, shaken but defiant, are determined to keep up the pressure on Israel and the international community to end the inhuman siege of Gaza.

Right now, another flotilla is on its way to Gaza, carrying essential medical, education and building equipment denied Gazans by the Israeli blockade. Another confrontation may be looming. The Rachel Corrie and two other ships are expected to arrive in Gaza on Friday night or Saturday morning. The Irish government has called on Israel to allow the boats through, but Israel has said it will divert the boats to its own Ashdod Port.

It is vital that we give these courageous activists maximum support and publicity. Ensuring that the whole world is watching is our best way of avoiding another massacre and preventing Israel from defying international law in stopping this humanitarian aid getting through.
Yesterday the European Campaign to End the Siege of Gaza announced that it already has funding for the first three ships of a new fleet. Now more than ever we must show that we will not give up. Only by redoubling our efforts until the siege of Gaza ends can we make sure that those murdered on Monday did not die in vain.

Lobbying your MP

International pressure is mounting against Israel and their continued blockade of Gaza. One of the ways that we can maintain that pressure is by getting as many UK MPs to sign Early Day Motion 127 that calls for and end of the Blockade and a full and impartial investigation into the Israeli Governments attack on the Mavi Marmara.

It is really simple to do, click on the link below, type in you post code with your name and address and a letter to your local MP will be generated. It only takes a few minutes to do, so please take the time and help maintain the pressure.
