AN ARMY THAT HAS A STATE

In a democratic country,
The Minister of Defense
Represents the civil authority
Vis-à-vis the army.

In Israel, the army
Has vetoed the appointment
Of a Commission of Inquiry
Into the harm done to
Gaza civilians.

Minister of Defense Barak
Saluted and went to deliver
To the government
The Order of the General Staff.
