Nouvel échec d’un bien maladroit représentant du lobby sioniste aux Etats-Unis

Quelques jours à peine après le « cessez-le-feu » au Liban, Israël a eu l’audace de présenter une sorte de facture pro-forma des dégâts causés en Israël par les tirs des résistants libanais, eux mêmes sous le feu d’occupants dévastant leur pays.Cette facture était destinée, semble-t’il, à être présentée aux Autorités libanaises.
Cela n’est pas sans rappeler l’incroyable « culot » de ce même Israël qui avait tenté de faire financer par la Banque Mondiale son projet de construction, en Cisjordanie, de routes et de tunnels destinés aux Palestiniens et passant sous les routes et autoroutes de l’infrastructure existante exclusivement réservées à l’armée d’occupation et aux colons (le montant estimé des travaux était de plusieurs centaines de millions de US$), enterrant ainsi les Palestiniens dans une sorte de réseau sous-terrain et s’appropriant, du même coup,toutes les infrastructures de surface.
Nous en sommes maintenant à une phase nouvelle. L’armée
israélienne a ravagé et les territoires occupés de Palestine et le Liban et a été contrainte de se retirer du Liban ; la Palestine continue, jour aprés jour, à être systématiquement privée des quelques infrastructures qui lui restent.
Pendant ce temps, les pays occidentaux, et notamment les pays européens, se réunissent en conférence pour parler d’un plan de reconstruction du Liban (.........la Palestine, on verra plus tard).
Répondons préventivement à une question piège : non, il n’est pas question de « laisser tomber » ces peuples victimes d’une occupation barbare et de tous les crimes et exactions qui l’accompagent) MAIS, qui, la facture établie, aura le courage politique de la présenter aux casseurs et associés ?
C’est à eux et à ceux qui les soutiennent inconditionnellement de réparer, reconstruire, dédommager au juste prix.
Un petit Etat comme Israël ne peut le faire seul sauf en utilisant les mêmes moyens qui lui permettent, par des canaux archi-connus, d’être alimenté en armes, munitions, carburant etc.. et d’utiliser tous ces moyens de façon insensée avec la certitude (mais ne se trompent-ils pas sur ce point ?) que le robinet dispensateur est définitivement bloqué en position ouverte pour l’éternité.
Chaque citoyen européen, pour ne parler que de celui-là, a payé sa quote part aux reconstructions répétées et du Liban et de quelques infrastructures majeures de Palestine ; celles-ci viennent à nouveau d’être détruites.
Il est plus que temps que ceci soit connu de tous et qu’il soit décrété par nos élus que, comme nous le pensons tous : les casseurs soient les payeurs et, s’ils ne le sont pas, qu’ils soient mis hors d’état de détruire à l’infini le patrimoine et les moyens d’existence de leurs voisins.
C’est à ce prix qu’il convient de redonner, le plus vite possible, à ces deux pays martyrs, les structures et infrastructures auxquelles ils peuvent prétendre et dont ils n’ont pu, jusqu’à présent, qu’avoir un aperçu malheureusement trés éphémère.

Recently we came up with an innovative strategy that brings together constituents with their Congress people to listen to guest speakers calling in from Gaza, Jerusalem, and even Lebanon. They hear about facts on the ground and, based upon an informed discussion, urge policy change. This convenient forum, which can accommodate 96 people at a time, is our Contact Congress Teleconference, and we’ve held three so far.
A couple of weeks ago, we began our third teleconference with a senior staffer for Congresswoman Anna Eschoo. However, as participants convened, « Mr. Lee Mulberry » claimed that he was a member of Congresswoman Eschoo’s staff, said that the teleconference was illegal, and made derogatory remarks about our guest speaker from Gaza ("he’s a terrorist") before we were able to restore order by muting his call. Because of this disruption by the rogue caller, the teleconference was re-scheduled.
After some detective work, we discovered that « Mr. Mulberry » was, in actuality, Mr. Lee Kaplan, who had previously contacted Congresswoman Eschoo’s staff insisting that such teleconferences were illegal. Contrary to his assertion, the staff’s legal counsel learned from Alliance for Justice and the California Association of Non-Profits that the Rebuilding Alliance has the « right and responsibility » to lobby (including conducting teleconferences) within the 501(h) guidelines established by the United States tax code. In response, Rep. Eschoo’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Jason Mahler, said « We take it very seriously [when] someone impersonates a member of staff and proceeds to insult our constituents » and opined that that Mr. Kaplan’s actions were « extremely unusual and likely illegal. » Thus, one outcome of Mr. Kaplan’s outrageous action is that the General Counsel of the House of Representatives is now investigating him for impersonating a congressional staffer.
The ghastly Mr. Mulberry was only a distraction from the real issues.
When the teleconference was rescheduled last week, we heard Rebuilding Alliance partner Mr. Husam El Nounou at Gaza Community Mental Health Programme (www.gcmhp.net) stated that « if the situation continues with closures, sanctions, etc., things will become very explosive and negative, both internally and externally.... From the Palestinian point of view, the U.S. should open genuine communications that include Hamas or with Abu Mazen to achieve a genuine peace based on justice, Security Council resolutions, and international consensus....The U.S. Government should think seriously about dealing with moderate Arab leaders and moderate Islamic groups, or it will have to deal with radical ones in the future. We must move before it is too late. »
Paul Larudee, founder of NorCal ISM, called from Lebanon and the citizen’s nonviolent resistance campaign (see www.lebanonsolidarity.org ) to say, « the devastation is unimaginable. In every town and village, almost no place is untouched. American policy and influence in this country is in shreds. Last year, in the March 14th Movement, Lebanese demonstrated in favor of independence and put pressure on Syria to leave. There was pro-American sentiment at this time. The young engaged in the popular movement and put trust in the U.S. Now, when Israel invaded Lebanon, the same youth looked for the U.S. to help ; and, instead, the U.S. gave a go ahead to Israel [for prolonged attacks].... The U.S. has lost this entire generation.... The only way to regain their trust is for the U.S. to help by taking steps outlined a few weeks ago by [Lebanese] foreign ministers. »
Rabbi Jeremy Milgrom, Israeli peace activist and Rebuilding Alliance board member, said, « It is now a relief to not have to hear by the hour about who has died. Right now there is a respite from that. More Israelis are realizing how American support is a trap to do things the American way. There is a lot of bitterness in Israel after what - from every point of view - are considered unsuccessful incursions into Lebanon. »
